Just how strong is Thor’s hammer? We have all seen the great power wielded by this mighty piece of Asgardian technology. Well, the folks over at the hit YouTube channel “How Ridiculous” decided to set out and see just how strong Thor’s hammer is. In honor of hitting a major subscriber milestone, the guys at the channel had a replica of Thor’s hammer made, the mold was then filled with lead. The hammer was weighed in at 220 pounds! They then attach the hammer to a cable and hoist it to the top of a tall tower, under they test drop the hammer a few times and show us in slow motion just how deep into the dirt and sad the weight of the hammer propels it. Finally, they bring in a huge plate of bulletproof glass, the suspense is palatable a the hammer is lifted and positioned and the cameras are set up to capture every angle. The hammer is then released and smashed through the glass like butter. When shown in more detail, we see the hammer smalled right through the outer layer of glass, and puts a hammer sized (and shaped) dent into the actual glass. So the answer is, it was a draw, Thor’s hammer destroyed the plate of glass, but was not able to shatter the actual pane of bulletproof material.
