Army Ants Made Me Do It: An Interview With Davy Jones

-

Davy Jones is a cartoonist and writer-creator and producer of the Charmy’s Army comic strip. Appearing in several newspapers and towns across the country, this comic strip depicts the surreal real, weird, humorous, and sometimes sad events in the lives of a group of army ants.

Along with the comic strip Davy Jones has produced an issue of a comic book of Charmy’s Army and at a convention he’s does sketches and custom mashups using characters from his comic strip and characters from other areas of fandom.

At the Nerdcon in Mont Belvieu Texas, I had the opportunity to interview Davy Jones and get insight about his ideas, the origins of his comic strip, the process behind creating a comic strip, and the origins of his ant inspired mash-ups.

Mr. Jones major goal is to have strips syndicated nationally in newspapers across the country on a daily basis. He’s also a fan of the Monty Python comedy series You can check out Charmy’s Army at the link here.
