10 Actors Who Could Play The Next James Bond

Daniel Craig has stepped down from doing another James Bond movie, and it has come time to recast the suave womanizer that we know to be 007. So far, Tom Hiddleston and Jamie Bell are in official talks to play the character, but there are so many other talented actors who deserve a shot at this role. With that being said, let’s take a look at the suave gentlemen that I think should get a shot at playing Bond. James Bond.

Andrew Lincoln

There’s never been a more suave person in the world of zombies other than Andrew Lincoln. Lincoln being a natural Brit, and a strikingly handsome man could truly kill it as James Bond. We’ve seen how well of an action star he is from a little show called The Walking Dead, and with as dedicated of an actor as he is, he could nail spywork and womanizing in no time.

Henry Cavill

Henry Cavill has already shown that he can play suave spies in The Man from U.N.C.L.E, and being naturally British and dashingly handsome can only help his case for playing 007. While you may know Cavill better as the current Superman, he has in fact shown that he has what it takes to play Bond. Despite being an American icon, this British hunk could very well do Mr. Bond justice in the next film.

Tom Hardy

While Tom Hardy has more experience playing suave British outlaws (see Legend and Inception), I feel that he could easily turn that around into a suave British spy. Hardy has everything that all the other classic Bonds have, and could easily fill the shoes of Daniel Craig. Given the chance, this ranged, Oscar-nominated actor could make a fitting superspy, and perhaps even the best Bond we’ve seen to date.

James McAvoy

Chances are James McAvoy isn’t the first person to come to mind when someone discusses James Bond, but I feel that he could very well play the character. McAvoy is just as suave and handsome as say Michael Fassbender and Tom Hiddleston, and he has done some epic action roles. Watching McAvoy in Wanted makes me able to picture him as Bond easily, and I believe if given the chance, he could truly be the next great 007.

Jude Law

Jude Law is widely thought of as the suave spy type, and has nothing but the credentials to play James Bond. He was People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2004, has proven his spy skills in films not limited to 2015’s Spy, and has the kind of suave demeanor that come hand-in-hand with Bond. While Law is an older choice for the role, I feel that he still has what it takes to give us an exceptional 007 after all these years.

Chris Hemsworth

Alas, we come to our first non-British choice for the role. Chris Hemsworth may seem like an out of the box choice for the role, but that’s a good thing. He is good at turning his Australian accent into that of an Old English accent (as shown by Thor), and is certainly suave enough for the role. Being People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2014 really seals the deal for casting Hemsworth as Bond, and if he could prove his excellence as a superspy, he would be the best 007 we have ever seen.

Christian Bale

Christian Bale is known to all as the billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne, who at night turns into the crime fighting badass Batman. However, what you may not know is that this suave gentleman actor is also British, and has all of the ideal assets to play James Bond. He’s handsome and charming, nails any action role you put him in, and could truly put all of the other Bond actors to shame with how good of a performance he would give.

Nicholas Hoult

Hoult is a younger actor, but a young James Bond could be a good change of pace for the character. Nicholas could play Bond for years to come, and supply us with many more movies in the character’s franchise. He’s young and charming, naturally British, and despite never playing a spy role before, has plenty of experience in the action department. I think if Hoult made a superb effort towards playing the character, that he would undoubtedly be the ideal James Bond for generations to come.

Michael Fassbender

Alas, the fan favorite reveals himself. People have been foaming at the mouth for Fassbender to be our new James Bond ever since speculation of Daniel Craig leaving the role, and for good reason. He’s everything you could possibly want in a Bond. He’s suave and handsome, yet can also add hints of a dark and tortured personality into his performances (which, after so many years of spy work, would be an interesting aspect to see in Bond). He has the toned abs of a Spartan warrior, even after so much time has passed from 300, and is no stranger to playing action heroes. With Fassbender in the role, there’s no possible way the new Bond movies could go wrong.

Theo James

Another young gun that could pump new blood into the role, Theo James is almost as much of a complete package as the likes of Fassbender. He has the kind of dreamy and dangerous look in his eyes that you expect from a good James Bond, and is making a name for himself in the acting genre. The role of James Bond could truly skyrocket James’s level of fame, and if they would consider the likes of Jamie Bell for the role, it’s not a big stretch to consider him.

Who do you think should play James Bond? Let me know in the comments!
