Lucius Fox: Steven Williams
In late 2018, The CW had their latest Arrowverse crossover, and this event introduced fans to their first look at a live-action Batwoman. Since this development, CW has ordered a pilot series centered around Ruby Rose’s interpretation of the character. However, there were several hints and references to other characters who could possibly join this series, and I would like to take a shot at casting them.
When you think of Lucius Fox, you think of a sophisticated, genius mentor figure, but Steven Williams isn’t exactly that. I think that he could easily fit into any role given to him, but I also think that he would play a more disgruntled, cynical Lucius. This would make a lot of sense considering the world that the Batwoman series is going to take place in, and I think that Williams has a good shot at snagging a spot on this show considering his previous experience on CW shows.
Bane: Daniel Cudmore
While Daniel Cudmore has already played two different characters on both The Flash and Arrow, I don’t think that a third is out of the question. Bane would by far be the most popular supervillian that Cudmore has ever played, and his physique is bound to get him the role. I don’t think that Cudmore is the best actor in Hollywood by any means, but I think that he is certainly good enough to play a juiced up Bane, and I would love to see him square off against Kate Cain.
Scarecrow: Mark Pellegrino
Scarecrow is, of course, the scariest Batman villain ever, and I think that Mark Pellegrino could be a perfect fit for that. Pellegrino is best known for his portrayal of Lucifer on Supernatural, and while he was actually quite hilarious in that role, he had his moments where he was absolutely menacing. I think that he is the right age to play a villain who used to tangle with Batman in his younger days, and with The CW’s knack for reusing the same actors for different shows, it would only make sense for him to end up in the Arrowverse eventually.
Mr. Freeze: Anthony Carrigan
Batman fans should know Anthony Carrigan for his role as Mr. Zsasz on Gotham, but I think that he is suited enough for the role of Mr. Freeze as well. It is no secret that Carrigan is an actor who has alopecia, and that is not an aspect of his life that he shies away from. I think that his condition gives him the perfect look for Mr. Freeze, and he is such a good actor that I would love to see him get a second shot at the Batman universe.
Alfred: Jim Broadbent
Alfred has always been a mentor for everyone in the Bat-family, and not just Bruce Wayne. We are bound to see Alfred join the series and serve as Kate’s right hand man, and I think that Jim Broadbent is a legendary actor who could easily serve in this coveted role. He is the exact type of person that I could see as Alfred, and it would be a major draw for CW to cast such an acting legend.
The Penguin: Dan Fogler
The Penguin is a perennial Batman villain, and although Dan Fogler is a little young, I think that he is the only choice for this character. Fogler just has every physical attribute you would look for in The Penguin, and he is becoming a bigger star through every project. He may be a little too popular to do a CW show, but I thought the same thing about Ruby Rose, so we never know!
Poison Ivy: Alicia Witt
Poison Ivy is another villain that fans always expect to see alongside Batman, and I think Alicia Witt is the perfect choice for her. She has the exact look for Pamela Isley, and with her previously appearing on Supernatural, the casting directors will likely be looking at her to play the character. With Kane’s unique sexuality, I wouldn’t be surprised if Poison Ivy was a love interest as well, and I think that Witt and Rose could have a bit of chemistry together.
The Riddler: Robert Knepper
From what I understand, Robert Knepper got fired from iZombie due to sexual assault allegations, however, it is not my place to present an opinion on that. What I can say is that Knepper would -down be the best possible choice to play The Riddler for The CW. Knepper is an enigmatic method actor, and I think that everyone would agree that based on his acting credentials, he is the ultimate choice for Edward Nigma.
Clayface: Tony Todd
Clayface at this point in the universe will likely just be a giant blob, hardly ever going into a a human form. Because of this, I think that Tony Todd would be perfect, has he has such an imposing voice. This is a voice that he has previously lent to Zoom on The Flash, and I think that lending it to Clayface as well would just attract more attention to the Batwoman series.
Batman: Jensen Ackles
Batman in the Arrowverse is a tortured, absentee hero, and while he should be played by an older actor, Jensen Ackles is just too perfect. He is a CW veteran, he auditioned for Batman in the DCEU, and he just looks and acts so much like both Bruce Wayne and Batman. It would interesting to see his chemistry with his close friend Stephen Amell in a crossover event, and I think that this is a casting decision that fans have been waiting years to see.
