JJ Abrams and Ta-Nehisi Coates are officially developing a Superman movie that will be centered around a black Superman, and for the most part fans could not be more excited. It is unclear whether this film will take place inside the DCEU, whether this character will be Clark Kent or Calvin Ellis (the alternate Earth Superman that has always been African American), however with the firing of Henry Cavill as Superman this film is looking more and more like it could lead the DCU, but not matter what the best actors for the part should be clear. There are several actors who have not been considered for Superman due to their race that would be absolutely perfect for the character, and here are just a few people who could play the First Black Superman
1. Rege-Jean Page

While the period drama and male nudity may not scream “Superman” to most people, Page has already garnered hype for the role of the next James Bond, and he physically fits the character of Superman well. He has the chiseled jaw and clean-cut sex appeal that Henry Cavill had as Clark Kent, and although he is yet to be a mainstream leading man, his candidacy for the Man of Steel is as good as anyone else’s.
2. Michael B. Jordan

Whenever Henry Cavill stepped down from the role of Superman, fans on the internet suggested that Jordan steps into the universe as the alternate universe Superman Calvin Ellis, which is still a fantastic idea. Not only is he built like a brick house and People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2020, but Jordan is one of the most popular and in demand actors in the world right now, meaning he has potential to be the best Superman that has ever graced the screen.
3. Jesse Williams

While one of the most popular shows on television is obviously a huge credit, the body of work that makes Williams a perfect candidate is actually the video game Detroit: Become Human. In this game, Williams plays an android that struggles with his humanity and ends up becoming a martyr to a people in spite of some violence and soul searching, which describes Clark Kent almost as well as if the game was written about him.
4. Winston Duke

Starring in the films Us and Spenser Confidential, Duke has cemented himself as a box office draw and strong leading man. Of course he is a giant man, standing at 6’5″ and weighing 250 pounds, so his naturally built stature would fit pretty well into the suit of a superhero, so why not as the first Black Superman
5. John Boyega

He still has hype behind him from starring in the new Star Wars trilogy, as well as Pacific Rim Uprising and several other smaller movies. While his acting prowess has yet to strike a chord with most critics, it is undeniable that his entry into the Superman character would be a high profile casting, and it would likely make the film an instant success.
6. Jonathan Majors

His popularity is bound to rise very quickly in the near future, as he has already been cast in the Marvel movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as Kang the Conqueror, showing that he is fit for the superhero genre. Majors looks as though he could easily bulk enough to be Superman, and with the MCU already committed to him, it’s only fitting that DC sees him as a serious possibility for there trademark character.
7. Leslie Odom Jr.

He has yet to cross the bridge over into an action movie, but he has an excellent physique that can be bulked up for the role of Superman, and he could use his experience with serious dramas to portray the moral and emotional duress that Supes will likely be exposed to in the film.
8. Aldis Hodge

Although he has made his career out of appearing in smaller projects, Hodge is a recognizable face and a physically large man, and his acting prowess is much more prominent that it probably should be. Hodge could play an older, more established Superman, and could truly be the focal point for which an entirely new universe is created around.
9. Ricky Whittle

Whittle is such an imposing, and even scary looking figure, meaning that his physique for Superman is undoubtedly already perfect. Although he has yet to appear in a popular major motion picture, Whittle has accomplished enough on television to be considered as a leading man, and chances are his Superman would be able to beat Henry Cavill’s Superman in at least the category of physical integrity.
10. Jovan Adepo
Embed from Getty ImagesPerhaps one of the most unsung actors in Hollywood as of right now, Jovan Adepo has managed to be impeccable in every major project he has taken on thus far. From his unlikely savior in Overlord to his jaded vigilante in Watchmen, Adepo has embodied several characters that are basically training for Superman. While he is not spectacularly built, that could be fixed with a trainer, and Adepo’s potential as Clark Kent or Calvin Ellis should be enough to snatch him the part.
Aaron Pierre should be cast as black superman
Skyh Alvester Black, Could play the 1st black Superman heck his face, body and even his name sounds like a superhero name 😂. He played on SISTAS TV show and ALL THE QUEENS MEN TV SHOW. Great and up and coming actor.
He could actually play almost any super hero. Green Lantern. Martian Manhunter etc.
