The dark, visionary mind of Tim Burton is producing The Addams Family reboot, which seems to be a hit even before casting has begun. The Internet has gone crazy with possible casting decisions for the newest iteration of the popular franchise, with everyone having their personal favorite choices for each role. There are so many excellent choices for each character in this series, but here are our favorites.
Gomez Addams: Pedro Pascal
There are plenty or amazing actors who would do well as Gomez Addams, including Johnny Depp and Oscar Isaac, but Pedro Pascal may be the most relevant choice. Considering the success of The Mandalorian, Pascal is currently the ideal leading man for any TV show, and of course, looks very similar to the character. Pascal could bring out the romantic aspect of Gomez, as he has shown through his portrayal of Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones, and would undoubtedly do just as well as Isaac or Depp would.
Morticia Addams: Eva Green
Ever since Tim Burton’s divorce from Helena Bonham Carter, it seems that his new muse is Evan Green. Not only does Burton use Green for all of his lead female roles now, but she would also be the perfect Mortia. She has the same sort of dark allure about her that Anjelica Huston captured perfectly, and on top of being a captivating beauty for Gomez to faun over, Green is a professional at bringing crazy and kooky to the big screen of the Addams Family reboot.
Wednesday Addams: Millie Bobby Brown
Although no one may be a better Wednesday Addams than Christina Ricci, the person who would come the closest is Millie Bobby Brown. Being the most popular child star in the world, it is a no-brainer to cast Brown as Wednesday, and she would give a much better performance than any other child star as well. Judging by how well she played a punk rocker version of Eleven in the second season of Stranger Things, it seems as though she is ranged enough to deliver the sarcastic taunts with which Wednesday communicates.
Pugsley Addams: Jeremy Ray Taylor
There are very few child actors who could bring both star power and authenticity to a character like Pugsley, but Jeremy Ray Taylor would be able to do that. Taylor has a face that should be recognizable to the same type of people that would watch the new Addams Family, as he starred in It and Goosebumps, making him perfect to take on another comedy/horror role in The Addams Family reboot.
Lurch: Doug Jones
While Lurch has very few speaking parts, he is an iconic member of The Addams Family, and the show could not exist without him. As the family butler, Lurch is seen frequently in the background of each movie, and is just as beloved as any other character. Doug Jones is an obvious choice, as he is used to playing “monsters” and using prosthetic makeup, and he would make a fine addition to the Addams Family reboot.
Uncle Fester: Danny DeVito
Tim Burton’s Uncle Fester could only be played by one actor, and that is none other than Danny DeVito. DeVito is a frequent collaborator of Burton’s, he would look incredible made up to look like Uncle Fester, and he could perfectly execute the kind of antics that Fester gets himself into. If DeVito does not manage to join this project, it will be missing an integral part, as he is absolutely the best possible option to portray the Addams Family’s most color member.
