Fancasting the Inhumans Movie Reboot

The Inhumans have been on the MCU’s radar ever since the first rumor of a film during Phase 2. However, the studio decided to bring the Royal Family to television instead, but the series was regrettably canceled before its time. Despite their first outing being unsuccessful, it seems that the MCU is rebooting the series into a movie, which means that hopefully, they will have a better cast on deck for this outing. Here are a few of our best suggestions:

Triton: Steven Yeun

Triton is a character that just isn’t very popular, so much so that he was only featured in a handful of the Inhumans television show. So, instead of wasting money to put an A-list actor in a role that no one is going to remember, why not hire a lesser-known actor that has a cult following? The millions of loyal fans that watch The Walking Dead would undoubtedly rally behind Steven Yeun in a Marvel movie, on top of the fact that he is an incredible actor who would be able to bring Triton to life with relative ease.

Gorgon: Joe Manganiello

Joe Manganiello may be a little too popular for a supporting role like that of Gorgon’s, but he would get the chance to show off his incredible physique while also kicking some serious supervillain tail. Quite frankly, this character is awesome, and it would be a project that anyone would have fun filming. Manganiello is the all-around perfect choice for Gorgon, with his name value being an added bonus.

Karnak: Anthony Carrigan

Anthony Carrigan a few years ago was only known by hardcore Gotham fans for his appearances as Victor Zsasz, but now he is an Emmy nominated actor for his work on Barry. Not only has he made a name for himself as a legitimate actor, but he also captures Karnak’s unique attributes because of his alopecia. He has plenty of experience with characters who are skilled hand-to-hand fighters, and with the perfect look for Karnak, it seems like Carrigan is the full package.

Crystal: Kathryn Newton

Kathryn Newton is one of Hollywood’s newest stars, going straight from Supernatural, to Blockers, to her breakout role in Pokemon Detective Pikachu. When it comes to young talent, it doesn’t get much better and fresher than Newton. She can capture the young, brash aspect of Crystal’s personality, while also portraying the immense power of which she is truly capable.

Medusa: Jessica Chastain

Medusa was criminally underutilized during her first outing, having her powers for a mere single episode. This movie will be an excellent opportunity to see Medusa use all of her actual powers, and no one would be better for the Queen of the Inhumans than Jessica Chastain. She would make an excellent lead for the film, seeing as how she speaks for Black Bolt, and embodies every aspect of the character to near perfection.

Maximus the Mad: Cillian Murphy

While Iwan Rheon managed to be excellent in the role of Maximus on Marvel’s Inhumans, Cillian Murphy looks like the character ripped right off the page. Not only does Murphy have the look, but he has been playing crazy, unhinged, and jealous types of characters throughout his entire career, with Scarecrow in Batman Begins being a prime example. He may not be the most relevant actor anymore, but he can certainly make up for that with the skills he would bring to the table.

Black Bolt: Dwayne Johnson

When it comes to improving upon a project that has previously failed, sometimes it is best to give in to what the fans want, and this is a fine example of that. Fans have wanted to see either Vin Diesel or The Rock play Black Bolt even before a movie was thought of being made, and with Vin Diesel voicing Groot in the MCU, who wouldn’t want to see Johnson take on the role? He has the imposing stature that the King of the Inhumans would be expected to have, and even though his character would likely not have any lines, it is still a high profile character to be given the honor of playing.
