With all of the new actors in fantastic media, some fans forget those who were part of one of the biggest decades of fandom ever, the 80s. Fan Expo hasn’t forgotten this era and is bringing several stars that either started in or dominated the era of MTV and super big hair to Dallas, TX.
Few actors not only defined the 80s as a decade but were one of the most preeminent actors of that time. from Buckaroo Banzai to Robocop, To shake down, and Leviathan, Peter Weller was a true leading man of the ’80s. Peter Weller, has also completed a PhD program in Italian Renaissance art. he has continued to act and has made recent appearances and the Abrams Star Trek films, as well as the Dexter TV series. He’ll be appearing Friday through Sunday at Fan Expo Dallas
In the ’80s no model was more connected to that decade than Christie Brinkley. Her All-American looks and girl-next-door demeanor met her when most popular and most photographed models of that or any time. Along with gracing hundreds of magazine covers she also appeared in both National Lampoon’s Vacation and Vegas Vacation as the woman in the red Ferrari who harasses Chevy Chase in those movies She has worked with numerous charitable organizations such as The USO, PETA, March of Dimes, and The Make A Wish Foundation. She will be appearing on both Saturday and Sunday.at Fan Expo.
Speaking of Chevy Chase, he will also be a featured celebrity at Fan Expo Dallas. whether it be Caddyshack, fletch, or his insane sci-fi comedy Modern Problems, Chevy Chase was indeed a major actor in the ’80s. is every man in an insane situation persona has been carried through much of his film work. An early member of Saturday Night Live and one of the originators of their famous newscast segment Mr. Chase has been a Cornerstone of Comedy throughout his career. he will be appearing Saturday and Sunday.
Beginning with background or minor roles in 80s movies such as Runaway Train, Death Wish 4, and Lock Up, Danny Trejo has made himself into an actor to be reckoned with over the years. He’s become a dominating force in both movie and television roles, especially with his collaborations with director/producer Robert Rodriguez Although he had more than a dozen movies out his true success and made a legitimate box office star was blood in, blood out. Over the years he has established himself as a Hollywood icon appearing alongside such heavyweights as Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, and John Malkovich.
Also scheduled to appear are such celebrities as Rosario Dawson (MIB 2), John Bernthal (PUNISHER), Zachary Levi (SHAZAM), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), and Hayden Christensen (Star Wars). The show will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas Texas June 9th through 11th, 2023.
