The weekend of May 12th to the 14th, Charlie Cox, Michael Colter, Finn Jones among others will be at Houston’s Comicpalooza. This show is the biggest comic book convention in Texas with people coming from all over the world coming to the show. And, boy howdy, the Defenders are the headliners. They’re also other celebrities, artists, and autors from all over the fantastic media circuit.
The titles leading up to Netflix Defenders Team Up Show started with Daredevil, then Jessica Jones, season 2 of Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. It then connects plotlines involving the character Stick played by Scott Glenn, as well as a group of drug dealing, mystical, cult of ninjas known as the hand a part of the storyline in the new series which has cast Sigourney Weaver, a Comicpalooza alumnus, as the villain. If you can make it to Houston’s Comicpalooza, you have a chance to get up close and personal with New York’s protectors.
Other celebrities slated to appear on the original Green Power Ranger, Jason David Frank, Danielle Panabaker and Candace Patton from The Flash, Robert Englund better known as Freddy Krueger from The Nightmare on Elm Street series, Anthony Mackie who played the Falcon in the Captain America and Avengers movies. Also, Pom Klementieff who plays
Mantis in Guardian of the Galaxy Vol 2, and return guest Lance Henriksen. And of course the biggest superhero of them all, Chuck Norris.
Along with the celebrities at the show, there’ll be comic artists and writers from major companies as well as many small press artists and writers at the show. This year also host many different authors as well as workshops on different aspects of the comic and publishing industry and panels with different celebrity guests.
Comicpalooza will be at the George R Brown Convention Center in the downtown Houston area which is attached to the Hilton Americas. Comicpalooza have become one of the premier conventions in the southern area of the United States and has continued to attract celebrities and comic artists of the highest caliber to meet their fans and continuing a tradition started years ago Mr. Englund and a few actors from the Elm Street series represent the old school or retro part of fandom, and for the new school of nerd kind, the Defenders cast. With the current hype over the recent trailer release for the Defenders series, which will be out this August on Netflix, for those who can make it to the show this is an opportune time to be part of the action.
