Howdy, Neighbor: Houston Artists At Comic Conroe

Montgomery and Harris Counties are neighboring counties in Southeast Texas and since being neighborly is a Texas tradition , here are some of the good folks from the Houston area you can interact with at Comic Conroe, being held at The Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe , TX, from July 23rd to July 25th, in Conroe, TX.

Moustafa Mousa- Featured guest artist at Comic Conroe, Moustafa has done an extensive amount of work for both DC and Marvel Comics, and is now a resident of Houston and has made quite a few appearances at shows ,large and small ,in the Harris County area. Well receiving of his fans, his fantastic art has been a beacon to artists alley.

Davy Jones- Cartoonist and creator/artist/writer of Charmy’s Army. A resident of the Houston area, Davy Jones is a fan favorite at the shows he has been a guest at, and his unique and humorous art style, as well as being a highly personable guy, Davy is a unique add Comic Conroe.

Greg Kelso- Author, creator of the Alonica books, Kelso has written fantasy and Western novels in the young adult vein. A fan of Dungeons and Dragons, his unique books, love of fantasy, and tries to genuinely engage his fans at the shows he attends.

The Con Hour- A podcast/interview series that tries to bring the best of cons in Texas and around the country to its followers. Based in the Harris County area, this show does it best to keep those who want to know informed on comic con focused topics. The aforementioned, Mr. Kelso runs the show with partners C.J. Peterson, and Aimee Ravichandran.

And leaning a little bit closer to Conroe are two featured guests who are voice actors ,known for being behind the dubbing of some of the most well known and loved anime out there.

Barry Yandell- Featured voice artist. Barry Yandell is a native of Keller, Texas, he is well at home in the Comic Conroe , East Texas area. He has voiced characters in such series as Black Butler  and Case Closed. Besides voice acting, he is also a Theater Director for Schools in the Keller independent School District.

Stephanie Ann Nadolny-Featured voice artist. Stephanie Ann Nadolny is a resident of Denton, Texas, another part of the greater East Texas area. Her best known work is voicing incarnations of Gohan and Goku in different iterations within the Dragon Ball franchise. She is also a singer.

Although there are other shows in the area around this time , you would have to look hard for a con that has better family friendly prices and atmosphere. If you haven’t attended a comic con before, or would enjoy a more laid back, old school experience, Comic Conroe is the show for you.
