In a video that is sweeping the web in the wake of the deadly Orlando shooting spree. A man showcases just how easy it is to hide a gun. The unnamed male first appears to be walking normally in his home, he then stops and begins pulling a fully usable AR-15 Assault Rifle out of his jeans.
The website the national shooting sports foundation describes an AR-15 this way. The AR in AR-15 rifle stands for ArmaLite rifle, after the company that developed it in the 1950s. AR does NOT stand for assault rifle or “automatic rifle.” AR-15-style rifles are NOT “assault weapons” or assault rifles. An assault rifle is fully automatic a machine gun.
After showcasing the AR-15, He then displays the many clips and magazines that are hidden in his various pockets of his pants. He then pulls a large handgun out of the back of his jeans and then showcases how many pistol clips are also hidden on his person.
The purpose of the video seems to be so that people can see how easy it is to hide a AR-15 on one’s person. The unnamed male tries to show how easy it is to walk around with said weapons hidden on his person. He fails to do this in that he walks stiffer then a scarecrow.
While this video is useful in its effort to offer a way to begin the conversation on guns and gun control, it fails to effectively show how a person could conceal a fully loaded and fully assembled rifle. The video could have been more effective if it had simple stayed in the realm of handguns or even a short shotgun being hidden on his person.
But as said before it is a useful tool to start a dialogue and discuss the aspect of the video that are good and others that need revising.
