Seven Matches We Are Likely To See At Wrestlemania 33!

With the Road to Wrestlemania already beginning to kick off in style, there has been another update on matches we’re expecting to see at the event. While we don’t have a full card here by any means, here are seven matches we are expecting to go down at this year’s instalment of Wrestlemania!

Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar

This match was basically confirmed from about Survivor Series. The two have been rumoured to fight other people at various times, but this was always going to be what went down. Hopefully this isn’t the main event, because it’s a good fight to have on the lower card at Mania, but not worthy of the main spot. With Goldberg possibly set to win the Universal title off of Kevin Owens at Fastlane though, we may well be seeing these two giants face off with the title on the line. In my mind the title is totally unnecessary for this match and many, many other matches that we could see for the title could now be wasted.

Seth Rollins vs Triple H

Almost as set in stone for months now as the Goldberg vs Brock match, Rollins has been calling the Game out and was screwed out of the Royal Rumble by the fake return of H. Therefore I’m guessing this match will go down at last at Wrestlemania. With the epic recent debut of Samoa Joe, we see that Triple H is trying perhaps to avoid the match with Rollins, but I am certain it will go down eventually somehow at Wrestlemania.

Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho

It is expected that longtime allies Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho will finally break up in time for a match at Wrestlemania. Since both of them currently hold titles this could easily be a title match, and currently the expectation is that it will be for Jericho’s US title. I think that this is again a bit of a waste, and I’m hoping that Jericho also loses his title before Wrestlemania. This match still has a lot of prestige without a title on the line. It could also be one of Chris Jericho’s final Wrestlemania matches, and could be a great one.

Roman Reigns vs The Undertaker

I like Roman Reigns, I do enjoy the guy. But my God, him entering at thirty in the Royal Rumble really pissed me off. The company is starting to take this to new and ridiculous heights, and it has to stop. Undertaker was eliminated by Reigns at the Royal Rumble and painfully it now looks like they will face off at Wrestlemania. My hope is that they will at least turn Roman Reigns heel for this match, because if they tried to turn Undertaker then the company really are being ludicrously stupid. With the plethora of candidates that could take on Undertaker at Wrestlemania, especially John Cena, who has no currently rumoured plans for anything major, this is not the match that I would have wanted to see. Finn Balor is the man I would have wanted for it from Raw, or Samoa Joe, but unfortunately we are stuck with this.

Charlotte vs Bayley vs Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax

With Bayley expected to win the Women’s title at Wrestlemania, is it possible that instead of another singles match between her and Charlotte, we will instead see the entrance of Nia Jax and Sasha Banks. Recently on Raw we’ve seen Bayley putting herself between Nia and the injured Sasha, so this could easily go down for huge hype at Mania, and it uses more of the women’s division at Wrestlemania, which is always a solid decision.

Big Show vs Shaquille O’Neal

This. Is. Terrible! Big Show is a legendary figure within the WWE, whether you love the guy or not, but if this is truly his last Wrestlemania match ever, which it looks likely to be, then it is thoroughly depressing that he has decided to go out on such a note. With new big men Baron Corbin and Braun Strowman desperately needing validation from a legend of Show’s stature, seeing him face former Basketball star and non-wrestler Shaquille O’Neal is just horrible. Big Show has gotten in great shape over the last few months, and looks brilliant now, so this feels like a horrible waste.

Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt

This could yet be the main event of Wrestlemania this year. While it doesn’t quite feel big enough for the main event of the biggest show of the year, not even with the WWE Championship set to be on the line, it does look like it is coming, with Bray Wyatt set to win the title at Elimination Chamber. I don’t quite understand how, in a year where it was so plausible to do John Cena vs The Undertaker as the main event of Wrestlemania with the WWE title on the line, why they have decided on this instead, but there it is. Orton and Wyatt have, of course, been an excellent team together for the last few months, and the Wyatt Family has been a truly dominant force, winning the Survivor Series Match for SmackDown Live, holding the SmackDown tag team titles and being two of the last three men in the Royal Rumble, but it still doesn’t have that epic quality that the majority of Wrestlemania main events possess, the unique dream factor that John Cena vs The Undertaker or AJ Styles vs Randy Orton have.
And that’s all folks! If you have any other ideas about what we could see at Wrestlemania let me know in the comments below!
