Shazam is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, riding a fresh wave of optimism an hope from Aquaman, the latest DCEU film is promising to bring the fun and the funny back to the grim world of DC Heroes. While the film is moving on from the dark and gritty world of Zack Snyder the film does not forget its roots, with many easter eggs and references to the films that came before it, it very much respects its founding films, that built its universe.
On Thursday, March 28th after accumulating 80 reviews and maintaining a fresh rating of 93%, Shazam is Certified Fresh on Rotten For a film to be “Certified fresh” it must have 80 reviews and have maintained a fresh score of above 75% for that duration. Shazam did this and has matched Wonder Woman’s 93% fresh rating.
While DC films have had a somewhat rocky road with critics since Man of Steel released, it is a relief to fans to see that DC has found its footing and is producing films that are widely accepted while also not abandoning the foundations that made the universe great at the start. It seems Shazam has done this in spades!
