While some small press publishers focus solely on their work and don’t take the time to share on ‘how they do it’, Scott Payne is not one of those publishers.
Based out of Galveston, Texas, Mr. Payne has a book, that while it adapts ideas from some of his favorite fandom, Chaotic Flux, is definitely one of a kind. From a post environmental catastrophe setting to it’s genre fusing team, this series has something can appeal to everyone.
The title of his series comes from an event that throws the world into, well, chaos, and what happens afterwards follows the adventures of a team of heroes that try to forge order into a world that doesn’t want it, and the high stakes of trying to protect world not everyone may want saved.
Using Indiegogo as a resource, and applying a lined strategy for where he wanted his book to go, Scott Payne has worked hard not only on the creating and writing of his series but the promotion and publishing aspects as well.
Along with filming the panel, Mr. Payne had taken part in, I had the opportunity to get to know Mr. Payne a little bit better and learn more about this fantastic world that he has created.
Learning the nuts and bolts of the indie comic book world as well as tireless promotion has given Mr. Payne, pardon the pun, a Sharp Edge over other small press publishers.
