Top Ten Boba Fett Facts You May Not Have Known!

Boba Fett Facts

With the Mandalorian’s season two receiving great hype on Disney Plus, and getting a surprise cameo appearance from a Star Wars character, who was believed to have been dead; it’s only fitting to talk about this iconic Bounty Hunter. No, I’m not talking about Gerard Butler from The Bounty Hunter(2010), I’m talking about the Mandalorian who first appeared on the silver screen. Yes, You guessed it. The unaltered clone himself, Boba Fett.

For this article, we will be delving into random facts About Boba Fett, that you probably didn’t know about. So without further ado, and in no particular order; I give you The Top Ten Facts Boba Fett Facts you may not have known!

1. A New Villain

Top Ten Boba Fett Facts You May Not Have Known!

Before the movie Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi(1983) was released in theatres, George Lucas was initially going to have Boba Fett be the bad guy. That’s right, instead of Luke Skywalker going toe to toe with his father, Darth Vader, he was going to go up against a fierce Bounty Hunter.

Now just think how different that would play out if that were to happen. I mean it still could happen, especially after what happened in season 2 of The Mandalorian. All we need to do is cast Sebastian Stan as the Young Luke Skywalker, and have a duel between the two. Maybe in season 3, Skywalker will kill Boba Fett. If that comes true, you heard it here first.

2. Luke, I Am Your Uncle

George Lucas was going to have him be Darth Vader’s Brother. Looking back on the older films as a young kid, I could see some hints that it was going to go that route. Had they done this, it would make for a more interesting back story. The whole Star Wars saga seemed to center on the family anyway, so why not.

3. What’s in the Name?

His real name was going to be Jester Mareel. Back in 1996, there was a novella entitled The Last One Standing: The Tale of Boba Fett that explored Boba Fett’s origin story in detail.

4. Hair Raising Origins

If you look closely at Boba Fett’s armor, you can see various types of braided hair draped over his shoulders. It has been said by the designer, Joe Johnston, that they came from the scalps of  Wookies. It has also been said that they came from young Padawan Jedi braids. Which one sounds more menacing? Wookie hair or Jedi braids? I vote for the Jedi braids in my honest opinion.

5. Ol’ Mandalorian Had a Farm

Believe it or not, the surname, Fett, comes from an altered Mandalorian word “Vhett”. Which means “farmer”. It’s less menacing when you think about it, but then again even iconic characters need humbling beginnings.

Speaking of which.

6. Humble Beginnings

When you think of the first time Boba Fett was introduced, you might be thinking that it was in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back(1980), but you would be wrong. He appeared in a made for TV cartoon show called The Star Wars Holiday Special. Yes, you heard that right. Boba Fett was a cartoon before he became a real person.

7. Revenge of the Fett

In the movie, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones(2002), Boba Fett witnesses the Jedi, Mace Windu, chop off Jango Fett’s head. I don’t know about you, but that is seriously traumatizing, especially to a young tender aged kid. Initially, Boba was going to seek revenge on Mace Windu, for killing his dad. Sadly we didn’t get that pay off. But hey, maybe we will with season 3. I know we saw Mace Windu fall out the window after getting electrocuted by Palpatine, but I think he survived the fall. If he did, then it would be an awesome dual between Boba Fett and Mace Windu.

8. Luke, I Am Your Mother

When Return of the Jedi was in its early stages of production, Mark Hamill suggested to George Lucas that Boba Fett could secretly be Luke’s mother.

I for one, am glad this never happened.

9. He’s An Action Figure

Here are one interesting Boba Fett Facts you may not have known! One of the first toys of him produced is a rare find and is claimed to be worth more than the majority of the Star Wars toys collections.

10. Staying Alive

After many long years of fan theories, we finally get the answer to the fanboy’s question. Did he survive the Sarlacc Pit? In season 2 of The Mandalorian, we see him alive and kicking. So it is safe to say that he survived. But one question remains… How? Will we see how Boba Fett escapes in season 3 of The Mandalorian? Only time will tell.
