Trump’s Walk-On Role In ‘Scent Of A Woman’ Left On Cutting Room Floor

Before Donald Trump ever dreamed of becoming the President of the United States, he had aspirations of becoming a Hollywood heavyweight. Yet, Trump barely made any sort of impression with his reality series, The Apprentice, and much less with his minor movie roles. But for all the appearances he did make, it was actually an appearance he didn’t make that got Trump the most notice in Hollywood.

According to Chris O’Donnell, one of the leads in Scent Of A Woman, he bore witness to the stipulations made by Donald Trump for a scene in the movie to be filmed at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. Apparently, for any scene to be filmed at his hotel, Trump required he get a walk-on role. Trump didn’t ask to have any lines in the movie, he simply wanted to be seen walking into the Plaza Hotel during a scene where Chris O’Donnell and Al Pacino’s characters would be walking out of the hotel. The production staff agreed to meet Trump’s stipulation but it didn’t matter in the end.

As it turns out, Trump’s walk-on role was left on the cutting room floor, never appearing in any cut of the film. O’Donnnell shared this interesting tidbit during an interview with Conan O’Brien. During the interview, he and Conan O’Brien shared a bit of banter on the subject, even joking about the Trump footage being thrown out while he was walking off the set. O’Donnell didn’t explicitly say as much but he more than insinuated that the footage was never going to be used. It’s a good thing too.

Scent Of A Woman might have been tainted by Trump’s reputation, moreso now than before, seeing as how the President is currently under fire for recent scandals involving potential colluding with Russian officials. Luckily, Trump’s ties to Scent Of A Woman ended with his part being filmed and never made it to the final cut.
