Jason Momoa
Every year around late November, People Magazine releases their coveted Sexiest Man Alive issue. This has become a bit of an international holiday, and there are many people who look forward to this tradition every year. People made headlines last year with their choice of Blake Shelton. However, I don’t see them making such a brash decision again, and I think I have a few ideas on who could star in this year’s issue.
Once Blake Shelton was declared 2017’s Sexiest Man Alive, everyone collectively agreed that Jason Momoa got robbed. When the discussion arises of who the sexiest man on the planet is, it really is divided into two groups: Jason Momoa, and everyone else. Not only is he the epitome of what all men strive to be, but he also has a great personality and sense of humor, and that’s why I think this is his year.
Chadwick Boseman
Black Panther was possibly the biggest movie event of the year, so who could be sexier than T’Challa himself? Something that has always surprised me is that the only African American to ever obtain the title of People’s Sexiest Man Alive is Denzel Washington, and I think it’s about time for that list to grow. Chadwick Boseman has perfect abs and a killer smile, so if you don’t find him attractive, then it may be time for your yearly optometrist visit.
Donald Glover
Sexiest Man Alive isn’t just about who is purely the most attractive, but who is the sexiest man alive this year. With Donald Glover’s career blooming in 2018, I feel like he has a real shot at nabbing the title.
Between Solo: A Star Wars Story, Atlanta, and his hit single This Is America, it seems like Glover has been successful on every platform. Not only does he have dashing good looks, but there is nothing sexier than being funny, and there is no better time for Donald Glover than now.
Sterling K. Brown
Sterling K. Brown is probably the busiest actor of 2018, but he is also underratedly sexy. Brown is one of those people that you can just tell brings a ray of sunshine to everyone he meets, and that is just a quality you can’t get from a normal man. He was actually featured in the 2017 issue with the rest of the This is Us cast, but this year he has strived to make more of a name for himself, and I think that him claiming the title would be a pleasant surprise.
Michael B. Jordan
As I mentioned earlier, Black Panther was the highlight of 2018 for many people, but it wasn’t just the hero that was sexy. Michael B. Jordan made headlines once his shirtless photos as Killmonger were released, and that is because he is in even better shape now than he was for Creed. After showing off his shirtless body so much in Black Panther, and with Creed II coming out later this year, it’s a safe assumption that Jordan is at least in the running for Sexiest Man Alive.
Oscar Isaac
Oscar Isaac has been unbelievably busy this year, and I think that is why he deserves to be the Sexiest Man Alive. Isaac has appeared in a whopping four films in 2018 alone. Just seeing his face that much should be enough to make everyone realize just how sexy he is. His defined jawline, class clown demeanor, and flawless acting technique are sure to make any woman swoon. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if People saw an opportunity to give their coveted yearly issue to such a fast-rising star.
Chris Pratt
It seems like everyone in Hollywood named Chris is the sexiest man you have ever seen, but Chris Pratt is just a little different than the others. Not only does Pratt have smoldering good looks, but he also worked extremely hard to get his action hero body, and nothing is sexier than dedication. His witty sense of humor and everyman personality is what makes people fall in love with him at first sight, and if he doesn’t get it this year, I think it’s a safe bet to say that he will claim the moniker of Sexiest Man Alive eventually.
John Krasinski
I think that every fan of The Office has dreamt about meeting their Jim Halpert, and John Krasinski really is just like the character. He is obviously extremely funny, having improvised most of his lines on the popular sitcom, but he is also an intelligent visionary, directing and starring in the critically acclaimed film A Quiet Place. Having picture perfect abs and making a name for himself as an action star with Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan certainly doesn’t hurt his chances of getting Sexiest Man Alive, and I think that he is somebody that is hiding in plain sight when it comes to the ideal male personality and physique.
Benedict Cumberbatch
Benedict Cumberbatch may not have been as busy this year as he has previously been, but he has made his projects count. Of course, he reprised his role as Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity War, but he also graced our television screens as the title character in Patrick Melrose. Having just been nominated for an Emmy and still being well within the public eye, I wouldn’t be surprised if the quaint, charismatic British actor finally got the recognition he deserves for being so attractive.
Jon Hamm
Jon Hamm has been insanely busy in 2018, and he isn’t going to lose his steam any time soon. Hamm has not only appeared in four films this year, but he already has three projects on the tab for 2019, so seeing so much of his beautiful face is sure to catch the attention of People Magazine. He has been seen as one of the sexiest men on TV since his run on Mad Men, and I think this could be the year that he is finally popular enough to land the title of Sexiest Man Alive.
