WWE: No Mercy 2017 Match Card And Predictions!

WWE: No Mercy 2017!

Tonight is No Mercy, which should be one of WWE’s smaller Pay-Per-View events in the calendar. However, instead of settling down into the Winter break and allowing the NFL to win the rating war as they so often do this time of year, WWE instead ramped up production and are bringing some WrestleMania worthy match-ups to the show tonight. It’s set to be a huge event, so here’s everything going down tonight at No Mercy, and our predictions as well.

Apollo Crews vs Elias

A kick-off match, and albeit it has come from nowhere, but I’m excited about it anyway. Apollo Crews and Elias Samson are both NXT Call-ups who haven’t had their day in the sun yet despite doing some great work. I could easily see either winning this match and beginning some sort of push up the mid-card, but I’m hoping that Elias gets the win as his heat with the excellent gimmick he has right now could easily move up the card.

Prediction: Elias Wins.

Finn Balor vs Bray Wyatt

Despite this being a dream feud for many fans for years now, this has fallen a little flat. I’ve enjoyed it okay, but I hoped when we saw it coming that it would be something truly epic. The Summerslam match and introduction of the Demon King again was cool, but kind of felt too easy, and now that the feud is continuing I’m wondering where it could really go. Nevertheless, hopefully, they put on a good match and WWE are smart enough to continue pushing Balor with another win.

Prediction: Finn Balor Wins.

Neville vs Enzo Amore

The Cruiserweight division has picked up a little recently, but it still doesn’t feel important enough. WWE may really move away from it being all about the flipping and special moves to give more character-time, and if you’re going to do that you may as well put the belt on Enzo. I don’t love the guy, but he’s got the best promo apart from Neville on 205 Live and it could be a good move to get more casual fans watching that show. Enzo probably won’t have matches that are half as good as Neville has been having, but it may be best for business.

Prediction: Enzo Amore Wins The Cruiserweight Championship.

The Miz vs Jason Jordan

I’m a massive fan of The Miz, I think the man is a legend. However, even I am getting a little tired of him as Intercontinental Champion. Not because he’s not brilliant at it, but because there are so many other people on RAW who could benefit hugely from a run with that title. Having said that, I don’t want Jason Jordan to be the one to take it off of him because that is a horrible idea in so many ways. This experiment has failed and WWE should accept that and not make us suffer a Jordan title reign. Balor should beat Bray Wyatt and take the title off Miz at the next event.

Prediction: The Miz Retains The Intercontinental Championship.

Alexa Bliss vs Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax vs Emma vs Bayley

Such a confusing place right now, that ole RAW Women’s Division. Bliss feels ready to drop the belt, but to who? Bayley is back from injury and was supposed to face Bliss at Summerslam, so she could win. Then Banks has been doing this thing with Alexa and could easily take the title she just lost right back. Nia Jax just betrayed Alexa and seems ready for a title reign. And Emma… well it probably can’t be her. But Bliss could just as easily retain the title as well. Personally, I hope that either Nia wins or Sasha wins by pinning Bayley because that could lead to a WrestleMania match between them. However, what I think is most likely is that Bliss retains and this leads to something else.

Prediction: Alexa Bliss Retains The RAW Women’s Championship.

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose vs Cesaro and Sheamus

The formation of a tag team between Rollins and Ambrose was best for business, and simply genius. It’s lit up the tag team scene, and now we have another excellent match set up for sure. I reckon there’ll be no funny business and it’ll be a straight up retention of the titles for the former SHIELD brothers. Having said that, it’ll still be a huge and epic match, which could easily be the match of the night if they’re given enough time.

Prediction: Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose Retain The RAW Tag Team Championships.

John Cena vs Roman Reigns

The big question is why here? Why not at Survivor Series or the Royal Rumble? The answer, because it has to be leading to something. I’d be very surprised if somebody doesn’t interfere in this match, be it the Undertaker or another superstar like Samoa Joe. Obviously it would be disappointing not to see a proper finish to this, but either way, I have to admit I’d be hyped for an Undertaker return to set up a final match with Cena at Survivor Series. I do think that either way, Reigns needs to get the win here if there is a finish. He ate the pinfall at Summerslam and needs to be built up again to take on Lesnar at WrestleMania next year. Or they could go to a time limit draw because both men keep kicking out at two.

Prediction: Roman Reigns Wins.

Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman

Here it is, the big one. The Universal Championship will be on Brock Lesnar going into WrestleMania. I feel fairly confident that WWE will stick to their plan of a Reigns vs Lesnar rematch after Rollins interrupted at WrestleMania 31. However, that doesn’t mean he actually has to hold the belt the whole time in-between. Why not give it to Strowman, complete the major push he is on, and then have him lose it to Lesnar at the Rumble? Lesnar is supposed to be disappearing again after No Mercy and not really working any other dates this year. So he had better drop the belt instead of taking it away for three months. WWE is trying hard to keep the ending of this match under wraps, so I’m hoping it is because a major shock is planned. Let’s hope Strowman is going to take that title and stand tall.

Prediction: Braun Strowman Wins The Universal Championship.

And that’s all folks! What do you think is going down tonight at No Mercy? Let us know in the comments and check out NEWSquarters on Facebook and Twitter for live updates throughout the night.
