What many people are learning there are secrets and tips to playing better. One hint and tip that many people are asking is how to turn on the augmented reality feature on Pokémon GO. Many times it is best to turn off the AR in the game.
So for example, if you are catching a Pokémon in front of someone, you may not want to be pointing your camera right at a person to catch the Pokémon at their feet. Turning off AR switches off the camera and gives you a plain digital background and also allows you to hold your phone at any angle.
A button will pop up asking if you wish to turn off the AR feature, many people accidentally hit the button and are then stuck in the non-AR world of Pokémon GO. Thankfully there is a simple solution if you wish to turn it back on again!
If you have turned off the AR feature either on purpose or by accident here is how you turn the AR function back on again. The only way to turn the AR function on or off is when you are engaged in battle with a Pokémon.
Approach the Pokémon you wish to catch, then tap on it. The AR toggle will pop up in the upper right hand corner of your screen. Make sure to tag the button and toggle the AR function on or off again, the button only pops up when you are engaged in battle with a Pokémon so make sure to change it before you are done or you will be stuck till your next battle.
