5 Actors Who Could Play Captain Britain in the MCU

Captain Britain is a Marvel Comics hero who is for lack of a better term the British version of Captain America, except that he is endowed with magical power vs Steve Rogers super serum. With Captain America 4 arriving soon, and lots of new heroes set to join the MCU both from its own timeline and the newly opened up multiverse, rumors are swelling that Captain Britain may be joining the fold! So without further ado here are 5 Actors Who Could Play Captain Britain in the MCU

Dan Stevens

Marvel is rumored to be producing a movie based around the characters of Captain Britain and Black Knight, and while neither are the most popular of characters, fans are still excited about the possible project. Captain Britain is a particular character that not a lot of people know about, so this could be an opportunity for some fans to expand their knowledge about a world they claim to know. However, Marvel is known for casting all of their roles perfectly, and I think I have a few actors picked out that could keep their reputation intact.

Dan Stevens is my first choice for Captain Britain, and I feel that he is hands down the best option for the role. Not only is Stevens a popular, rising star, but he has the perfect look for the character as well, and could rip Captain Britain straight from the pages. While he already plays a Marvel role as David Haller on Legion, I don’t think that will get in the way of taking a part in the MCU, and he would make a fine addition to the movie series.

Charlie Hunnam

Charlie Hunnam is a huge star right now, so it’s only natural for Marvel to try to get him to join their shared universe. While Captain Britain may not be the most sought after character, Hunnam could certainly change that, and we may even see him join the Avengers if he signs on. Having another one of the hottest action stars of our generation in a Marvel movie is sure to make everyone happy, and Captain Britain would be the perfect character for Hunnam to portray.

Ben Hardy

Ben Hardy isn’t a well-known actor, but I still think that he could be as good of a Captain Britain as Hunnam or Stevens. While he has done big film projects such as X-Men: Apocalypse, he hasn’t really had a chance to be more than a minor supporting character, and that could be a contributing factor as to why he has yet to star in his own movie. With Hardy’s resemblance to Captain Britain, and his potential as an action star, I have no doubt that Marvel will see him as a potential candidate for the role.

Taron Egerton

Taron Egerton is already one of the biggest action stars in the world at only 28 years old, and casting him as Captain Britain would bring some serious star power to the role. While he doesn’t look exactly like the character, Egerton can more than make up for that with his charming demeanor and experience in action roles. If he can make time in his hectic schedule for another high-intensity action role, then I know for a fact that he could be the perfect Captain Britain.

Theo James

Theo James isn’t as popular of a star as he used to be, but he embodies all of the physical characteristics one would expect from Captain Britain. He has the strong jaw, striking good looks, British sensibilities and unreal abs that everyone would expect from a Marvel superhero, and James being the full package could be what lands him the role. I feel like he is an obvious choice to join the MCU, and there is no better character for him to play than Captain Britain.

Honorary mention!

Henry Cavill

Henry Cavill is perhaps best known for his role as DC’s Superman in the Zack Snyder films Man of Steel, Batman V Superman and Justice League. However, over the last few years, he has built up series of well-received roles in Mission Impossible Fallout and Netflix’s The Witcher series. Being British and a well-known name Henry Cavill could be a great choice to take on the MCU’s version of Captain Britain, which could be happening if those rumors are to be believed!
