5 Actors Who Could Play Lobo in ‘Krypton’

It was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend that fan favorite Superman villain Lobo will be joining season two of Syfy’s hit series Krypton, and fans of the show couldn’t be more excited. Lobo has gained a bit of a cult following in recent years, being branded as a cross between Deadpool and The Punisher, so it’s obvious that there are many people excited for him to make an appearance on a current DC television show. However, you need the perfect actor to bring Lobo to life, and I think I have a few suggestions.

1. Jonathan TuckerImage result for jonathan tucker

You may know Jonathan Tucker from his new role in the popular series Westworld, but if you recognize him from the AT&T original series Kingdom, then you know that he would make a perfect Lobo. Tucker played a deranged and absolutely ripped drug addict and MMA fighter, and I knew from the first time I saw his character that he had the potential to be Lobo. While he’s not the tallest person in the world, I feel like he could be made up to look like the character perfectly, and I don’t think anyone would be upset with the performance he gives.

2. Ryan HurstImage result for ryan hurst

If you’re a fan of Sons of AnarchyBates Motel, or The Outsiders (and let’s face it, you have to be a fan of at least one), then you know exactly who Ryan Hurst is. Besides being a mountain of a man, Hurst has experience playing a tough biker, and that’s about half of what Lobo is. However he does have range, and if he’s given the right script, I believe that Hurst could pull off the hilariously insane side of Lobo too.

3. Kevin DurandImage result for kevin durand

Kevin Durand may not be the biggest name in Hollywood, but he is certainly a big man. Standing at a whopping 6’6″ and usually staying in fantastic shape, Durand is a viable contender for Lobo based on his size alone. However, he has a humorous and somewhat nonsensical personality, and that could translate into a role like this extremely well.

4. Brett DaltonImage result for brett dalton

Brett Dalton is primarily known for his role on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and if you’re a fan of that show, then you know that this man can play literally any role you could imagine. He played at least three different characters on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. alone, one of which being the heartless alien HIVE, and I think that could provide some experience into the mind of the murderous Lobo. He’s tall and certainly muscular enough to portray the character, and if given the proper script, I think he could be equally terrifying and hilarious in the role.

5. EdgeImage result for edge

You might not take this choice seriously considering how Edge is famous for being a professional wrestler, but just look at people like Dave Bautista and John Cena. Pro wrestlers are slowly being seen as actors more than athletes, and I personally like that change. However, if you need any testimony to Edge’s acting prowess, just watch him on The Flash. He thoroughly surprised me in the few episodes that he appeared in, and on top of being an extremely large man, that gives him experience in playing someone with superpowers. While people may laugh at the idea at first, I think that Edge is just as qualified as anyone else for the role, and I think his addition to Krypton could really spice things up.

What do you think? Who should play Lobo on Krypton? Let me know in the comments!
