Blast From The Recent Past: Retropalooza Returns To The Houston Area

If you’re a fan of old-school video games and pop culture for the millennial and beyond generations you need to come to Retropalooza and Pasadena Texas, on May 25th and 26th 2024. 

This year, they are upping the ante for guest stars and are including members of the original teenage mutant Ninja Turtles cast to their celebrity lineup. Amongst this group will be Ernie Reyes Jr and Brian Tochi 

Even though Retropalooza has had guests that connected with kids of the ’90s and early 2000s these two actors have decades-spanning careers and will delight fans of the ’80s movies and TV.

Brian Tochi starred in the Filmation live-action children’s series Space Academy along with Brian Harris (Dr Smith from Lost in Space). He is also a leading character in the comedy films Revenge of the Nerds and police academy 2. He is appearing at Retropalooza as part of their Shell-A-Bration, As he was the voice of Leonardo for the original Three Mutant Ninja Turtle live-action films 

Ernie Reyes Jr.

Ernie Reyes Jr has appeared in such films as Red Sonja And The Last Dragon and even starred in the short-lived Disney series Sidekicks With Gil Girard. he’s worked as a stuntman primarily in fight scenes throughout most of his career and He is appearing at Retropalooza as part of their Shell-A-Bration, As he was the martial arts stunt double for Leonardo in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. 

Kenn Scott is most well known for his portrayal as the in-costume action double for Raphael in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 and 2. He also appeared in the cult film Showdown and appeared in Newsies, Sworn To Justice, and Full Moons Dr Mordrid. He is appearing at Retropalooza as part of their Shell-A-Bration.

 Also, appearing are such internet celebrities as Boogie2988, General Malice, the Game Chasers, and 8-bit Eric at Retropaloooza.

 Tyler Esposito the creator of My Retro Life, a documentary series about life as a nice gamer and growing up in a family obsessed with video games will also be a featured guest this weekend.

Also during Retropalooza, there will be tournaments including the Nintendo games Paperboy and Koopa the Quick, the Dreamcast game Crazy Taxi, and PlayStation 5 Street Fighter 6, and on Sunday tournaments will include Tecmo Super Bowl on the NES.
