Fan Expo New Orleans: A Geek Gumbo Debut

New Orleans is known for its laid-back attitude, can-do spirit, and it’s unique gumbo. Whether that it’s that hot bowl of goodness or fan culture  New Orleans has had something for everyone. And with the debut show for Fan Expo, that attitude will definitely be at the heart of their celebrity lineup.

Amongst those stars trekking to NOLA this awesome geek weekend of January 7-9, 2022 will be such celebrities as the legendary William Shatner (Capt. Kirk) and John De Lancie (Q) from the Star Trek franchise.

But if your tastes lean more towards superheroes, there will be plenty of actors from several geek favorite franchises for the visiting. From the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ming Na Wen (Melinda May/SHIELD), Michael Rooker (Yondu/Guardians of The Galaxy), and Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Captain America) will be there.

But say you’re more of a DC geek, well Fan Expo NOLA has got you. From The CW’S Arrowverse we have Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen/Arrow), Javicia Leslie /Batwoman), John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn/Arrow).

Although Mr. Barrowman was a part of The CW’s Arrowverse, he is best known for his role as The Doctor’s companion, and later field leader of Torchwood from the BBC’s Doctor Who franchise, Captain Jack Harkness. Also from Doctor Who Catherine Tate (Donna Noble) will be a guest as well.

And if your tastes in fantastic media lean more towards the dark, the edgy, or the darkly humourous, Fan Expo has that for those geeks as well.

From the Clerks franchise (The View Askewniverse), Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Jeff Anderson, Trevor Fehrman, and Brian O’Halloran will be on hand.

Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) and Jay (Jason Mewes)
