Is Blockbuster Coming Back? Company Shares Cryptic Facebook Post

Is Blockbuster coming back, this is a question many are asking after the company posted a cryptic post on social media?

For many people, Blockbuster is the epitome of nostalgia, we always looked forward to Friday night and rushing down to get the latest new releases and overpriced popcorn and candy from our local neighborhood location. There was something special about the community that was built around a love of film, people would make friends with the employees and chat about which films they loved the most while waiting in the checkout line.

Is Blockbuster coming back?

Blockbuster officially ceased operations in 2014, with only one store staying in business in Bend Oregon, which has now become a tourist destination.

The official Blockbuster Facebook page has been silent since 2014, however that changed on July 25th, 2022, when they posted the following

The humorous and mysterious post was accompanied by a gif from the Disney film Hocus Pocus, of a zombie returning from the grave. Needless to say, this post send shockwaves across social media as everyone commented and wondered what this could mean. One commenter said

“I still have my original card from my first day of work. Hope my rewards membership is still good.”

Another said

“Me and my friends used to call it a Block Party Weekend! One of my favorite jobs. We used to rent so many movies on the weekend, buy all of these snacks and drinks and literally make it an event! Lol.”

Blockbuster has not posted anything else since the statement, Viralhare has reached out to the company for comment and we will keep you updated on this development as it happens!
