New Star Wars Comic Confirms That Palpatine Could Return In The Future

This article is apart of Viralhare’s April Fools Day series and is not meant to be taken seriously

In the last few months, we have seen a stream of story details regarding Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker, first, the movie novelization confirmed that Palpatine was in fact a clone and that Rey’s father was also a clone of the dark lord of the sith.

With more revelations promised in the upcoming Rise of Skywalker comic book series, many have wondered just what “Untold stories” will be brought to light. the author of the adaptation Alessandro Ferrari has recently confirmed one very interesting detail from the film’s climactic battle.

The film ends with the apparent final defeat of Darth Sidious at the hands of his granddaughter Rey, disintegrated by his own force lighting and the destruction of his cult. It was revealed that Sidious had survived by transferring his essence to a clone body at the end of Return of the Jedi. This led many to wonder if Sidious was really dead this time or if he could indeed return in the future!

In a skype interview with comic-book author Alessandro Ferrari, the author was asked this question and replied with this very interesting revelation.

We promised to reveal more details in the comicbook, and one thing that LucasFilms wanted me to include was a way to make Darth Sidious death at the end more ambiguous, this is a guy who knew the secret to eternal life, who had cheated death many times before, I mean he says I have died before. So in a few panels I added a few things to leave you wondering, is he really dead? I won’t say what I included as that is a surprise, but Sidious is basically Satan to the Star Wars universe, can you really kill Satan for good? I don’t think you can

This was a very interesting tidbit from the comicbook, and one that has been theories for a while so it’s not a huge surprise. I guess we will have to wait till the book’s release to see exactly has the author managed to make us wonder about the Emporer’s survival!
