In the popular anime, Sword Art Online our main protagonist Kirito (Kazuto Kirigya) goes on an adventure through the one hundred floor death game. Along his way, he fights multiple bosses, monsters, and players to try and clear the game. In the end, he manages to succeed, but with great pain and trial. Throughout this trial, he becomes a solo player. This leads us to point one of the main reasons he is so powerful.
Soloing
The first reason Kirito is so powerful is because of his soloing. Through the act of solo playing, he is able to kill monsters alone to gain more experience allowing him to level up fairly quickly. In conclusion, through being a solo player he is able to level up quicker. (In a sense any MMO which uses a leveling system is unfair.)
Kendo
Alas in the middle of sword art online (Episode 4 Season 1) Kirito helps a beast tamer named Silica. Silica gets trapped with her dragon Pina after her party gets separated from her. Silica’s pet, Pina, died saving her, only for Kirito to truly save her. After saving her and escorting her back to town, Kirito tells silica he will help her get Pina’s life back, then they head out. Meanwhile, when they are out in the fields of floor 47 (Flower Garden), Kirito explains another key point to why he is so powerful. Kirito explains that he took lessons in kendo, which is why he has such skill with a sword.
Time
Our third reason is time. Kirito was trapped in Sword Art Online and it took roughly two years to clear. Meaning he had plenty of time to fight monsters and master his way with swords.
Now for math, Two years is roughly 17,520 hours. Taking out about one-eighteenth of those hours to coordinate in; eating sleeping and other misc actions. If we divide 17520 by 18 we get 973~ meaning he spent 16,547 hours fighting with his sword. It takes approximately 10,000~ hours to master something. This means he would have had enough time to completely master a one-handed broadsword.
Pain
Our final reason for Kirito being the most powerful player in Sword Art Online is pain. Through the 75 floors of the death game, they go through Kirirto sees a lot of people he loved or knew die. This gave him the determination to beat the game faster, so he didn’t have to see the people he loved die. This kind of pain was enough to drive him to the end and finish the game.
Conclusion
In a final conclusion, the reason Kirito is powerful because of the time he poured into the game. He poured countless hours upon hours of dedicated work towards leveling up and protecting those he loves. Those are the reasons he has the power he does.
