There are a lot of artists nowadays who seem to be talented in many fields, but may not always connect with everyone. Afua Richardson is not one of those artists. Julliard trained in music and a self-taught artist, Afua has worked with artists and companies from all around the media. From Mario Van Peebles to Sheila E and Parliament Funkadelic in music and comics work for DC, Dark Horse, and Marvel, she has worked with pretty big names. However, Afua is also a person who delights in choosing her own path, and has been a guest at several conventions, and is known to be a kind, fun, hardworking person.
Viral Hare recently got the opportunity to interview Afua Richardson via Zoom and got to know a little bit more about this talented, delightful “Jane-of-all-Trades”.
Afua Richardson was to be a featured artist guest at Bayou City Comic-Con, however that show is to be rescheduled. At the time of the interview, this show was still in the process of being set up,hence the comments in the interview. She is working on a book looking at the history of merfolk from around the world, and has other projects coming out soon.
