Loving The Alien And The UFO: Differing Views On Little Green Men

Update: When this article was originally published in 2023, Congress was just holding hearings on the existence of UFOs, aliens, and little green men. Flash forward to 2026, and the Pentagon has released its first batch of files. At that time, we introduced several schools of thought on the subject; the ideas we originally presented were shared after the press statements of the President and the Secretary of War.

Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

CLEARED FOR RELEASE – MAY 8, 2026

STATEMENT: “The Department of War is in lockstep with President Trump to bring unprecedented transparency regarding our government’s understanding of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena. These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation — and it’s time the American people see it for themselves. This release of declassified documents demonstrates the Trump Administration’s earnest commitment to unprecedented transparency.” -United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth

On July 27, 2023, the United States Congress held a historic hearing on the existence of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs), historically known as UFOs. Triggered by a high-profile UAP whistleblower, former intelligence official David Grusch, the hearing centralized a startling theme: non-human entities may have been visiting Earth for decades, and the US government—specifically the Department of Defense (DoD)—has allegedly been complicit in a massive cover-up.

During the testimonies, lawmakers from both sides of the aisle demanded transparency. “We should have disclosure today. We should have disclosure tomorrow. The time has come,” stated Democratic Representative Jared Moskowitz of Florida, capturing the bipartisan urgency for the truth. According to the CBS News coverage of the UAP hearing, these events have forever changed how the public and lawmakers view government secrecy regarding extraterrestrial intelligence.

With authoritative journalism groups like the BBC covering the story, and the United States and Canadian governments actively reviewing and analyzing accounts of unknown aircraft, mainstream culture is forced to shift. It is time to take a serious look at the core schools of thought surrounding the phenomenon of extraterrestrial life.

Before we get into the serious side of the UFO-UAP belief and disclosure concepts, we thought it would be fun to get ideas from a community that has been part of the UFO/aliens discussions for years: the nerds, geeks, and cosplayers who have seen it all.

1. The Pure Skepticism Movement

The first school of thought rests on absolute skepticism. Skeptics argue that all phenomena related to UFOs and unidentified aircraft can be explained by natural or earthly means. They attribute sightings to atmospheric light refractions, weather balloons, terrestrial military technology, or the psychological misinterpretations of the observer.

Skeptics frequently use these arguments to dismiss serious academic research into UAPs. Drawing heavily from established fields like astrophysics and biology, this group actively decries the idea of alien visitation, demanding rigorous, reproducible empirical evidence before validating any claims of extraterrestrial origins.

2. Scientific UAP Research & Prehistoric Extraterrestrial Theory

The second school of thought embraces the scientific observation of UAPs. Like skeptics, this group utilizes the scientific method; however, they believe that anomalous sightings defy current human capability and could be explained through advanced thermodynamics, biology, and particle physics. They view UAPs not as a myth, but as a quantifiable field of research waiting to be understood.

To an extent, this group often intersects with the ancient astronaut hypothesis. Popularized by the History Channel series Ancient Aliens, this theory suggests that extraterrestrial beings have guided humanity since antiquity.

The idea gained mainstream traction in 1968 with Erich von Däniken’s seminal book, Chariots of the Gods. Von Däniken interpreted ancient architectural marvels—such as the Nazca Lines in Peru and the global distribution of pyramids—alongside ancient statues resembling modern space suits, as definitive proof of historical contact with advanced, off-world beings.

3. The New Age Movement and UAP Conspiracy Theories

The final cluster of ideas stems from the New Age movement and political conspiracy theories. While both agree that non-human entities are visiting Earth, they attribute radically different motivations to these encounters.

The New Age View: Cosmic Enlightenment

The New Age movement generally views extraterrestrial entities as spiritually advanced, benevolent beings. Adherents believe that these entities maintain contact with select humans to guide humanity toward higher consciousness, spiritual enlightenment, and cosmic harmony.

The Conspiracy View: Government Collusion and Control

Conversely, a parallel and darker school of thought argues that alien visitors have a malicious agenda, actively colluding with shadow governments to achieve global dominance.

In this realm of ufology, entities range from the classic “Grays” associated with the 1947 Roswell crash to the “Reptilian” shape-shifter theories popularized by David Icke. Believers in these theories view these entities as hostile adversaries to human free will, alleging that they are engaged in clandestine experimentation, genetic hybridization, and ultimate control over the human race.

Conclusion: The Truth Is Out There

Whatever your personal beliefs regarding the US DoD disclosure files or the testimonies echoing through Congress, the UAP phenomenon remains one of the most captivating mysteries of modern history. As governments slowly lift the veil of secrecy, it is up to individuals to research the evidence and draw their own conclusions. Ultimately, as the push for transparency accelerates, one thing is certain: the truth is out there
