VERO 2.0: Social Media App Unveils Massive Update

VERO True Social is the revolutionary social media app that took the world by storm in early 2018, promising no data mining, ads, and no algorithms. The app racked up downloads and users in the millions and has provided an exciting alternative to other social media that do not care for one’s privacy or data

On December 2nd VERO announced that it was rolling out the app’s largest update yet, calling it “VERO 2.0” the update brought a new look to the app, as well as a plethora of other additions. VERO’s Founder Ayman Hariri (Check out our exclusive interview with him here) said this about the update

“The team has been hard at work on a major update and the day has come for us to share it with you! I couldn’t be more proud of this awesome group of people scattered all over world working together on a common goal.”

VERO 2.0 changed the interface of the app, giving its menu a notch like display at the bottom, that provides quick access to the various ways to connect. The update also updated the chat system that now allows you to share things within its window.

One of the most requested updates was the inclusion of more post types, the app already allowed users to post, movies, TV shows, music, and books, and now with 2.0 one can also share what video games you are playing and what apps you are using. Another cool new feature is the inclusion of “Bookmarks” that allows you to save posts made by your connections or other users, so if you see a cool photograph, book or movie you can click it and save it!

Lastly voice and video calls have been added to the app, which allows you to call and video chat with your friends, followers and connections, with crystal clear clarity! Overall VERO 2.0 is an excellent update that delivers a beautiful new design aesthetic to the app as well as some very cool and useful new features for connecting with others.

2020 has been the year that has pulled back the curtain to show us the ugly and addictive nature of social media, these revelations have more than ever shown what an important place in the Tech world that VERO occupies. VERO’s goal is to build a connective world in its app that is ad-free, algorithm free, and non-controlling. The VERO website says it best I think

“Optimized for connection, not addiction, putting you in total control”
