Back With A Promise: The Eastern Rim Funny Book and Vintage Con

Although cons were put on the back burner in 2020, 20201 has seen the reemergence of shows, especially on smaller scales for both safety and family-oriented reasons. One small show is coming back and celebrating its comic book convention roots in its own big way. Eastern Rim Funny Book and Vintage Con, will be held at the Lee College Gymnasium at 200 Lee Drive Baytown, TX 77520. Dates are Saturday, September 11th (10 am-6 pm) and Sunday, September 12th (10 am-5 pm). Parking and entrance are both free to the public.

(Also, as with any convention, guest appearances and schedules are subject to change.)

Again working with The Fred Aguilar Promise Center, this little show is bringing in some big talent from the comic book world, such as:

  • Peter Tomasi-Writer for Detective Comics, Batman and Robin, Superman for DC Comics
  • James O’Barr-Writer, Creator and Artist for The Crow
  • Val Mayerik-Artis , Illustrator, co-creator of Howard the Duck
  • Steven Butler-Best known for his work on Archie Comics, SIlver Sable, and the Badger

Some of the artists local to the Harris County Texas area that will be on hand are:

Tom McKee, voice actor, actor, and theatre director will also be a featured guest at the show, and publishers Inklings Publishing and Texas Sisters will be there as well.

And like every good con there will be comic-book, toy, and collectible vendors, cosplayers, and plenty of fun for the entire family. For more details about the show, lodging, and further info please navigate to or click on the link here:https://www.easternrimcon.com/
