Comicpalooza : Portal To Funkadelic Fandom For The Bayou City

Comicpalooza has been a mainstay in the Greater Southeast Texas convention for over a decade. Although known for their Houston sized celebrity meetups and panels, Comicpalooza this year is featuring vendors, displays, and areas for all kinds of fandom.

Custom cars, geek themed or super clean were on display for all to enjoy. Whether you’re a street rod, batmobile, or custom ride kind of fan, Comicpalooza’s car gallery.

Star Wars , Star Trek, and Battlestar Galactica fandoms are all well represented at Comicpalooza. From tours of a full sized Viper fighter Apollo would be proud of , to the full bridge of the original Enterprise, as well as droids, Jedi and Mandolorians are at Comicpalooza. So if epic sci fi is your thing it is here.

The Astroworld Museum has a significant sized booth, bringing back the kind of nostalgia Comicpalooza has presented before. This display truly shows the heart of Houston, and it’s connection to nerdkind is definitely a big draw.

The arcade area has arcade games new and old, something Comicpalooza has hosted for years at their show, and it appeals to the young and old fans of classic arcade gaming. If you’re a board game fan, Comicpalooza has an entire area devoted to tabletop gaming for all attending the show,

The also have a kids area devoted to the younger fans of Comicpalooza. A Kroger sponsored junior chef area is definitely a highlight of Kidtopia.

Comicpalooza is going on from May 22 to May 24 at the George R Brown Convention center.
